Nurses working in Emergency Departments, Neonatal Intensive Care Units, and other critical care areas are highly sought after by hospitals locally, regionally and nationally because the positions they fill require advanced training.
Rather than recruit these nurses from Chicago, Madison, or Milwaukee, Rockford Memorial Hospital wants to “grow” their own by offering a new critical care nursing program beginning in October.
“This is an opportune time for experienced nurses who want to take that next ‘critical’ step in their career,” says Therese Tangye, R.N., Nurse Recruiter, Rockford Health System. “Participants will become full-time employees of the hospital, and receive a generous package of full-time benefits while training.”
The Critical Care Nurse Training Program is five months long. Upon completion, nurses will be prepared to work in Rockford Memorial’s Adult Critical Care, Progressive Care, Cardiac Telemetry, Neonatal Intensive Care, Post-Anesthesia Care and Emergency Department.
Applications for the program are being accepted through late September, and training will commence in October.
