Does your child babysit? Does he or she know how to handle major and minor medical emergencies? A course at Rockford Health System will teach girls and boys age 11 to 13 the basics of babysitting. Safe Sitter classes will be held on the following days at Rockford Memorial Hospital:
- January 26 and February 2
- March 27 and 28
- April 26 and May 3
- June 26 and 27
- July 24 and 25
- August 14 and 15
- October 11 and 18
- November 8 and 15
The two-day Safe Sitter program is a medically accurate program that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children. Specially trained instructors cover topics that include safety and security precautions; how to aid a choking infant or child; and recognizing and responding to other emergencies.
The class fee is $55, and classes run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Call the Rockford Health System Information Line at (815) 971-1999 to register.
