A beautiful story of a New York infant boy who beat dire odds when he received a transplanted heart from a Rockford area girl in January 2005, will be recounted when his parents visit Rockford Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 17.
Jordan Trimarchi, the son of Brooklyn-based attorneys Jeff and Sadaf Trimarchi, needed a new heart when doctors found a golf-ball sized tumor on his left ventricle.
The couple and their son are in town to thank hospital personnel and staff.
Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network coordinated the donation that led to the life-saving transplant. The organization is the federally designated organ procurement organization serving the northern three-quarters of Illinois and northwest Indiana.
