Free Hearing Screenings
7/26/2010

The Audiology Department at Rockford Health Physicians is offering free hearing screenings August 16-20. The first 25 people to schedule a screening will be entered into a drawing for a free hearing aid. Patients must have a hearing loss to qualify. To schedule your free hearing screening, call (815) 971-2890.

Thirty-six million Americans suffer from hearing loss. While the vast majority could be treated successfully with hearing aids, only 22 percent seek treatment.

“Even a minor hearing loss can have a major impact on your life,” says Kristen Young, Au.D., Rockford Health Physicians. “Untreated hearing loss can lead to dissatisfaction in relationships, stress and depression, avoidance from social situations, and social rejection. So if you miss conversations, misunderstand what is being said, drift off into thought, or turn your head to hear a conversation, you may have a hearing loss and you should be examined by a qualified audiologist.”
